Shut it down, cool it off, and take it in for service immediately. If the Stop light is also on, shut the engine off IMMEDIATELY. If it comes on while the engine is running, shut it off and use the oil dipstick to check the oil level. If it comes on while the engine is running, you have a problem with your alternator. Wow, JD should have corrected this one Well Ive read the posts, went up to JD and bought 2 thermistors (1 for a spare) came home and at best, got the fuse panel to bend out about 34s of the way, no room at all to do any soldering behind there. ![]() Im going to pull the selinoid and attempt to clean that out, but I couldnt even get to the white wire to ground that like someone had suggested. Has anyone posted or is there any photos out there of the stock thermistor in place from the factory Ive pulled the panel out twice now, and just cant see it. The only problem being is I found a mouse nest behind the fuse panel and a red wire disconnected. I had to work at freeing the wire harnesses to to move the fuse box. But still no start. SOLUTION: 1)Take the right engine cover off. Unbolt the rear bracketcover plate from the engine. Two top bolts and one larger lower bolt)After unbolting, twist a little to pull away and up so that you can get to the selonoid. With a small 14 socket set, remove the two bolts holding the selonoid to the rear of the injector pump. Remove the selonoid from the injector, unplug from wiring harnass. If you see oil running out of the selonoid, your half way there. Take it in the shop, get a can of Brakeleen or Brake cleaner. It cleans and evaporites fast) Turn the selonoid cannister up, plunger downward and work in in and out spraying Brakeleen up in where the plunger goes in the canister. Do this several times until the plunger feels free of oil. ![]() Put the side cover bracket back on, start your tractor IN especially cold weather, the oil hardens or gets stiffer creating a blockage so that the plunger can not move all the way as it should. After this manuver, you will hear a louder clank when you activate the switch at the panel. Good LUCK, mine started right up after doing this maintenance. My 4200 has been a bit fiddly in the last year, especially during cold weather.
